If you like being annoyed, don’t read this post

Camino is an open source web-browser for Macs.  It has a clean, Mac-consistent design and a whole variety of features that put it comfortably in the same class as Safari and Firefox.  But it has one excellent feature that the others lack (at least as far as I can tell - there may be some Firefox add-on that I’ve overlooked) - “Annoyance blocking.”

As the Camino website describes it: “Camino includes an elegant built-in pop-up blocker as well as built-in adblocking, which keeps even the busiest Web sites free of advertisements. Camino’s pop-up blocker gives you the option to show the pop-up, whitelist the site, or never get prompted again. Additionally, Camino includes the ability to keep Flash animation from loading until you’re ready (Flashblock) as well as the ability to disable Java.”

It may not be for everyone, but if you’d like to see what it’s like to have an uncluttered, ad-free browsing experience, consider giving Camino a try.

  • Text Area #3

This is the area on the site where Christian would announce his various skills and accomplishments, if he weren't so darned modest.
